Second Thought makes you gamble every time you try to open a blocked app, because most screen time apps get ignored the second you can just tap through them.
It currently sits in the Top 100 for Productivity in six European countries.
Yaseen Halabi, a sophomore in Computer Science at the University of Illinois, built the app in September 2025 and launched it in January 2026.

The content side is running off a single ambassador on Instagram, @quantlarperr, who has posted 23 videos since June 11 and accumulated 826K total views. Three of those videos crossed 100K views using the same format each time: selfie mode, casual gen-Z coded talking, personal review of the app.

His best video hit 324K views on June 18 with the hook “BLACKJACK FOR SCREENTIME,” opening in selfie mode and making the case that most screen time apps fail because you can just click through them. Two follow-up videos using the exact same format hit 123K and 126K views on consecutive days.
Three videos above 100K views in a month, and “BLACKJACK FOR SCREENTIME” is doing most of the work.
