A map-based app centered around nearby activities just had its first hit.
Released ~6 months ago, MigoMap is now a top 50 travel app in India.
They have been struggling to breakout since launch, but a simple Instagram creator found a way to make it work.
@piya_.sharmaa_ began uploading daily videos in Feb 26, 2026.
She is using the classic “shocked reaction -> app demo” format on them.
Her first ever video got over 560K views and had this hook:
“first day in SHIMLA and I see THIS, Never deleting this app”
Shimla is one of India’s most recognizable hill destinations, so the video immediately created familiarity and curiosity for local viewers. It made the content feel familiar, and worked as a retention hack.

A couple of weeks later, the same creator went even bigger. She hit 1.5M views on Mar 21, 2026 with:
“I can do WHAT in India?? never deleting THIS app”
The structure stayed almost identical, but this time the hook expanded from one city to the whole country. The result was another viral post, with comments full of people asking for the app name.
The breakout is still early, but this creator, who appears to be their only ambassador so far, has already generated 2.3M views in just 15 videos from a single Instagram account.
MigoMap has now reached meaningful reach with this single account.
The next step is clear: more creators, more accounts, and eventually TikTok.
