The Fake Productivity Hook Pulling Millions of Views on StudyTok

StudyTok has a new format built around the moment right before the studying actually starts, when everything feels productive.

It starts with the “pre-study high.” The creator is planning the lock-in, setting up the desk, opening tabs, making the to-do list, and feeling weirdly motivated.

Then it hits: all of that feels productive, but none of it is the actual work yet.

“when i’m having the best time planning my lock in and feeling so productive but then remember i actually have to do the work now”

One version of that hook pulled 2M views.

The same creator also posted it on TikTok and did 322.8k views there too.

A creator for Tomo AI adapted the format as well. It did not go viral, but the adaptation made sense:

The app should feel like the bridge between “I’m about to be productive” and “I’m actually doing it now.”

This format connects well to the fake-productivity lane we already covered before: the creator who faked a 27-hour study timelapse and pulled 11.9M views.

One week ago a new version from @heyfreyahale just pulled 7.8M views

Format built around reliable student pain points like confusing preparation with progress or pretending to study for hours seem to be working well right now. Your turn to show us how it’s done.
