World Cup Hooks Score Another 10M+ Views

We’ve seen a few apps use the World Cup as the entry point for a video like Oasis.

“Norway refuses to eat American diet”.

The post reached 3.2 million views on their main account @checkoasis, with the creator reacting to the headline.

But the best versions so far are coming from language apps.

Teuida had the cleanest version so far.

The language-learning app turned the Korea x Mexico storyline into a classroom skit, making the video feel like a World Cup joke:

“10 Years after the World Cup 🇰🇷❤️🇲🇽”

The post hit 8.4M views on Instagram and 2.8M views on tiktok.

HelloTalk reinvented a hook that worked in that niche and added a Worldcup angle:

“why German so easy? 🇩🇪 HelloTalk go ⚽”

It reached 377K views.

During the World Cup, social media is flooded with content about football but also languages, nationalities and flags.
