The Dating Format They Can Repost Forever

Cerca has one ambassador rerunning the same 8-second boyfriend checklist every week, while the founder tests a second narrative around escaping dating-app humiliation.

We covered Cerca’s “My application to be your boyfriend” format three months ago. Now it is one of the app’s main growth drivers.

This one creator @ben.ekedahl basically turned one idea into a weekly series’ bringing him up to 14.6M lifetime views and Cerca’s second-best-performing account.

All of his last 50 videos are some variation of the same structure: “My application to be your boyfriend — Ben, 27, 6’3″ — [green flags] — Only on Cerca.”

He pulled 1M views one week ago:

Each new video only needs a slightly different combination of traits “Takes your pictures. Pays for dates. Won’t make you work out ect…“.

So the format stays the same, and you can repeat the same videos endlessly just making enough list changes to create a new comment section.

The CTA “only on Cerca” can always be included.

At the same time, the founder is pushing a different angle.

@cerca.myles first started building his account around an anti-dating-app narrative. The content framed Hinge, Raya, and Tinder as embarrassing and frustrating to position Cerca as the alternative.

He is at 15.3M views on TikTok and 14.3M views on Instagram.

Now he is trying a newer format: faceless videos with voiceover where he spins a wheel, chooses a follower, then contacts friends to figure out who that person’s crush is and set them up on a date.

One of those already hit 334K views.
