Two Social Apps, Two Different Plays

Remember Yope, the social‑networking app where you share photos with friends?

Their breakout format focused on the idea of creating a shared annual album.

“Me when I explain to my friends that we have exactly 7 days to download Yope and create a group on January 1st so we can have a photo recap of our entire year to watch like a movie.”  → 4.1M views

Then came Housewarming, a 2‑month‑old app that seems eager to challenge that momentum.

They launched at full-speed, with 11 creator accounts posting regularly since January.

But instead of focusing on yearly memories, they leaned into long‑distance friendships.

“HOT TAKE but long distance friendships are more intentional. you don’t keep them out of convenience, you keep them bc you choose each other. seeing my best friend’s day pop up on Housewarming makes the distance feel smaller without needing to talk all day” → 873.6K views

Here you can see how the hooks are performing.

The results aren’t great yet, but the app is still very new.

For now, we wait. Housewarming needs time to prove whether it can chip away at Yope’s lead.
