Since launching in 2024, Magibook has gotten some attention for a surprising twist: using the same video on TikTok and getting two totally different outcomes.
The app is running a single TikTok account, and so far, totaling 2.8M views since they started posting, in August.
Lately, the app has been using the same formula over and over: a phone-shot video of a kid using the app, with a hook written in a banner at the top.
Recently, two of these videos stood out, one with 1.2 million views, the other with 1.5 million.
They always use the same trick. Both videos feature this kid reading books that are way above his age level (sometimes even above an average adult’s IQ to be fair).
- “Caught my 8y old reading Nietzsche” (when this kid is 4 maximum)
- “I caught my 7y old reading “Crime and Punishment”
- “Is this normal?? What is bro preparing for??”
Meanwhile, the visual hook of the iPad implies that it’s the app making those books easier to read and become age appropriate.
These videos triggered a flood of comments, with most of the discussion centered around a heated debate on whether it’s even ethical or possible for Magibook to heavily simplify classic literature.

More videos in the same style were posted on the account, with different reaction levels.
We’ll keep an eye on any new viral formats they experiment with.
