Launched quietly in 2024, Japan Question has been keeping to just one format and still pulled in millions of views.
The app’s account has already gained more than 142 million views.

Since March, the app’s account has stuck to one format: every video begins with the creator checking a phrase on Google Translate, shown on screen with a sticker, then acting out a short scene with two characters using that phrase.
This format pulls in a extremely viral videos, with million of views and thousand of people commenting:

In 2024, the creator had a different format, but it also led to strong engagement: videos where he says the same phrases in Japanese, with eye-catching captions in both English and Japanese.
This format is really just a simpler version of the one being used now in 2025.
