If you’ve spent any time in TikTok marketing, you’ve likely noticed this: most apps start with a bunch of accounts, but in the end, it’s usually just one or two standout creators carrying the entire view-count.
Gleam is no exception to this.
Even though it’s just 8 months old, it’s already ranked #96 worldwide and sits in the top 50 in Canada, Australia, and Singapore.
In April, a group of six accounts started posting content on TikTok. But shortly after, it became clear that nearly all traction comes from a single creator.
Out of 40.1 million total views, 37.3 million come from @povmaxxed.
His format never changes:
- faceless videos
- filming strangers walking by
- attempting to compliment them (“I like your outfit”)
- showing the discomfort
Some videos show him visibly nervous, reinforcing the idea that learning social skills is a process that takes time and effort (and an app).

Engagement has been pretty high for most posts, with this video hitting 7,444 comments, most of which are people identifying with the struggle:

By Day 4, he appears more relaxed.
