March in Consumer App Growth

Welcome back to Next Month in Consumer App Growth, our monthly breakdown of what’s actually driving reach, engagement and downloads across consumer apps.

Each month, we analyze top-performing apps and creator networks across short-form platforms to surface the formats, hooks and strategies that are working right now.

This month, we expanded the scope and added two more niches, “Social Networking” and “Lifestyle & Entertainment” to the mix, giving us a broader view of how different categories are scaling.

Let’s get into it.

This Month at a Glance

  • Total Views: 1.2 Billion
  • Engagement: 5.25%

Across seven niches, short-form video generated 1.2B+ views in the last 30 days, slightly below last month’s level as app founders and creators adjusted to algorithmic changes.

Education, Dating, and Health lead in volume, while Religion and Lifestyle lead in engagement with identity-driven content.

Across niches, multi-account networks and posting volume are outperforming single-creator breakouts.

Organic growth is shifting from chasing virality to building scalable systems that compound. From the 3.3k+ accounts and almost 60k videos we looked at, repeatable formats, faceless POVs, and strong emotional hooks are driving the most growth.

The Biggest Growth Stories

This creator pulled 431M+ views using a simple “X or Y” quiz format that sorts viewers into groups, forcing engagement.

This format could easily power an educational app.
