Insane Engagement “MIL Text” Slideshow

Three days ago, we spotted a format of immense potential freshly posted on an app’s creator account.

The slideshow pulled in 206,800 views, but that is not the impressive part.

Engagement level was insane, with over 1,800 comments. The gossip triggering hook definitely helped:

“the sweetest text I got from my MIL (healing your MIL trauma)”

The second (and last) slide is a screenshot of her mother-in-law’s text message.

Notice how they’ve used the text as an excuse to talk about the app, yet in the right context, it passes. It’s the “sandwich method”, meaning you slide your CTA in between two layers of storytelling.

It tends to go unnoticed as a ad, especially if you can build a story that allows you to highlight a specific feature rather than simple name dropping the app.

Here they did it with “I tested it and it also sent my grocery order straight to instacart (…)”, which makes it automatically sound like a legit recommendation.

Imagine just how many spins you can take on this format, we literally can’t think of any that could not be plugged here.
