Life on Film is still printing with the same core format: hand a disposable camera to strangers → let them live → reveal the film photos in a video.
But their recent “hit” added a twist to the storyline that viewers ate up:
They’re not just giving cameras to strangers anymore… they’re setting up a date between two strangers, giving them the camera, and letting the film tell the story.
It pulled 24M views, 1.8M likes and more than 7k comments.
The original format already has a built-in loop (anticipation → reveal) and pulls millions of views. But the date version adds instant curiosity:
- Are they vibing?
- Do we get a cute ending?
- Are the photos good?
It almost becomes like rom-com content, not just “cool photos.”
Even with millions of views… there’s still not much CTA or clear bridge to the app.
The app is an editor / “film vibe” tool, but the content people love is the social experiment + disposable camera storyline.
Regardless, there’s potential here for couples app content.
