Another Calorie Counter Running on Slideshows

Launched in June 2024, the Trimmi Calorie Counter app stepped into the market to go head-to-head with platforms like Cal AI, Nourri AI, and NutrIA, bringing a fresh and personalized way to track calories and manage nutrition.

They are running five official accounts that have collectively reached 14.1 million views.

A top-performing format on the official account is the slideshow series.

Each slide features a food photo from Pinterest, with the dish name as a short hook overlaid on the image.

This video gathered 5.3M views, 30.4K likes, 88 comments, and 10.1K bookmarks, boosted by paid ads.

The official account, @trimmi_app, used a trending format with a popular audio clip that quickly went viral and gave their views a big boost.

However, the official page isn’t the only one getting attention. The creator account @get.trimmi is also seeing great results with its own style of content.

One popular format on the page is a short headshot video that starts with a strong hook and goes on about why it’s important to adjust your lifestyle, to match the different phases of the female hormonal cycle, a subject that’s often missing from traditional education.

This video received 1.5 million views, 377,000 thousand likes, 513 comments, and 38,000 thousand bookmarks.

It’s clear that in wide and competitive spaces like nutrition, the best content often sits where two niches overlap—in this case, diet and menstrual cycles.

This is exactly the type of content gets people talking, as it encourages viewers to share their own experiences and thoughts in the comments.

They’ve been leaning towards long hooks that blend these two worlds:

  • “Your hormones are doing something every single day. This changes your energy levels, focus, sleep, exercise tolerance, food cravings and body temperature. You cannot be the same every single day. You need to adjust your routine to be in sync with your hormones.”
  • “Estrogen is a powerful neuro-protector. It helps memory, focus, sleep, and mood. Progesterone is your calming hormone. This is why you feel a dip in brain power right before your period. You need to support your brain with the right foods and nutrients in each phase of your cycle.”
  • “If you try to push hard every day, you’ll burn out and create more stress hormones (cortisol). Learn to work with your body’s natural phases: high energy for the first half of the cycle, and restorative, self-care energy for the second half. This is called ‘Cycle Syncing’.”

Another creator, @fitwithcal8 doesn’t fall behind, using a simple style where shorter hooks do most of the work. The entire account is running on faceless content, and it’s also slowly gaining traction.

These videos always use the same faceless view and start with a short hook. They focus on promoting a high-protein, high-fiber diet to improve digestion, support gut health, and help prevent illness.

This video received 1 million views, 155.7 thousand likes, 123 comments, and 20.1 thousand bookmarks.

A few of the hooks “she” has been using:

  • “Not enough talk about scooping food out of the way. If you have a scoop it is literally a pick me up for your gut.”
  • “Me every day: I’m getting chia from colon cancer not protein deficiency.”
  • “Remember that the nutrients are the food you eat, but actually because of how you are”

Trimmi keeps it simple with easy formats and catchy hooks to draw people in. Now it’s all about whether they can scale it and grab a piece of this super competitive market.
