Gen Z is obsessed with hollow cheeks right now (don’t ask).
Looksmaxxing apps have fully gone mainstream in 2025, and Bloater AI is one of them.
It’s a facial scanner that helps users “debloat” their face.
In the last 30 days, Bloater jumped to 90K downloads and hit $20K in MRR.
They went for a hard paywall freemium model. The app is free to download, but you need a subscription for almost every core feature.
Right now, they’re in the top 100 in the App Store across most of America and Europe.
They run six different social media accounts, but most of them don’t get many views. Their TikTok account, @bloaterai_app, is the clear winner with 1.9M total views.
Most of that reach came from two main content formats.
The best performing one was the “supermarket debloat scan”.
The creator grabs a product off a supermarket shelf and scans it in the app to show its bloat potential and other insights.
“Bloatmaxxing” -> 542K views in March
The second format that took off was “food skin care”.
They filmed TikTok aesthetic meals on a wooden board, like meat and avocado with honey, then scanned the plate using the app.
“what is your skincare routine ur skin is so clear!? me:” -> 168K views in March
On top of their own channels, Bloater also pays influencers to promote the app. They partner with popular creators like Nikolas Pilates and others.
“pov: eating to debloat” 266K views
Bloater shows what happens when you grab a Gen Z obsession and build a tight funnel around it.
You make one clear promise, “debloat your face,” build trust with influencers, and bundle it into a hard paywalled AI coach.
Layer on a few well-chosen creators like Nikolas Pilates, and you end up with top 100 chart spots and $20K MRR built on one very specific insecurity.
