How One Muslim App Turned Three Hooks Into 40K Monthly Downloads

Lumo launched on January 2. Six months later it’s pulling 40K downloads a month and ranking inside the Top 100 Productivity apps in more than 30 countries, including France and India.

Almost all of that momentum came from a 15-account UGC network across TikTok and Instagram, with creators repeatedly building on the same winning formats.

The network’s biggest creator, @maryam.prays6, generated 3.2M views with almost the same opening every time. Every video starts with “Muslim to Muslim…” before asking what made someone’s imaan go from feeling lost to finally feeling close to Islam, and before the question is even over the recommendation is already there: “mine is downloading Lumo Daily.

@brooke.lumo reached nearly 800K views with a different approach.

Her video opens with “You gave the Muslim brother at the masjid a chance,” before revealing that he was the one who built Lumo.

By the time Lumo appears, viewers already want to know who the “Muslim brother ” is.

The biggest Reel was even simpler.

Creator @triss.deen reached 2.3M Instagram views by opening with “Omg… I’ve been Muslim my WHOLE life and I JUST NOW found this…” before walking viewers through the app.

Instead of chasing a new viral idea every week, the team kept refining the ones that were already working. Each creator brought a different angle, but the format barely changed, helping push Lumo into the Top 100 across more than 30 countries in just six months.
