Her App Hit 100K Downloads in 19 Days

Photogenik launched on June 17 as a pose-coaching app that helps users find better angles, poses, and selfies in real time.

Less than a month in, it has already crossed 100K downloads and sits in the Top 100 for Photo & Video in the U.S. and 50+ countries.

Founder @nikiivictoria didn’t have to find an audience for her app, because she had already spent years building one.

Over the past few years, she’s generated 1.2B TikTok views and 1.6B Instagram views teaching people how to pose, find better angles, and take better photos.

Her biggest TikTok, “proof you’re not ugly, it’s just the angle,” reached 41.6M views and 465K saves in 2023. In the video, she transforms an unflattering selfie into a great one by changing the angle and pose.

That video is basically the app’s core idea.

The launch followed the same formula. On June 19, she launched with “just thinking about all the selfies I deleted before I knew about this,” which reached 9M Instagram views.

Four days later, another promo built around “me just NEVER knowing how to pose in pics until I found this” added another 7.4M.

Shared to the app’s own Instagram page, those videos have already generated 31M views in under 3 weeks.

Photogenik didn’t need to convince people they had a problem. Millions had already watched Niki solve it for years.

The app simply became the next step.
