How One Hook Helped This New App Reach 20 Countries in 30 Days

Crossi is an app that maps how many times you and someone else were in the same place before you ever met. It reads the location metadata from your photo library and turns it into a number, and for couples, that number tends to be surprising.

It launched on May 26 and has reached 5K downloads in its first month, currently sitting in the Top 100 for Entertainment across 20 European countries, with its strongest rankings in Austria at #13 and Germany at #18.

The content campaign runs 16 accounts across Instagram and TikTok, most of them uploading consistently since mid-June. Viewership across the network has stayed low so far, with one exception.

@jesscrossi_ on Instagram has accumulated 1.4M total views and is the only creator in the network to have broken through. Every video follows the same structure: shocked face selfie clip, then an app screen tutorial showing the map with her boyfriend’s profile and their crossing count.

On June 17, she hit 570K views with the hook “pov: you and your bf crossed paths 131 times before you met.” She pinned a comment asking for the app name and replied with the link directly.

Two days later, a slight variation, “pov you and your bf crossed paths 215 times before you actually met”, reached 215K views.

Four days after that, another version of the same hook hit 272K views.

The number is the hook. 131 times, 215 times, the specificity is what makes people stop. It turns a vague romantic idea into something that feels provable and personal, and worth checking for yourself.

The POV framing and the boyfriend angle together make up the first working hook for this app.
