Portuguese Couple Turns Niche Into App and Hits $10K MRR in First Month

Some apps spend months trying to find their audience. This one launched straight into it.

Clicked is an AI photo editor that launched on April 20. In its first month, it reached 20K downloads and $10K MRR. The tagline is simple: “Edit like your favourite creator.”

Behind it is Raquel and Miguel, a Portuguese couple with 1.7M followers on Instagram and 1M on TikTok under @explorerssaurus_.

Their content has always been about travel, photography, and aesthetics, the exact overlap where a photo editing app makes complete sense.

The product feels like the natural next step for an audience that already follows them for visual inspiration.

The first big push came 4 days ago, when Raquel posted directly on their main account.

The hook: “If your husband takes your photos, you need this.”

It hit 2.6M views on Instagram.

She opens in selfie mode, gives a knowing look to camera, then moves into an app demo. The CTA at the end asks viewers to comment “Clicked” to get the app name, and the comments filled up instantly.

What made it land so well is that the hook speaks directly to her audience’s reality. Her followers already know what it’s like to hand their phone to a partner and hope for the best.

One day later, their brand account, @useclicked, posted a variation of the same format.

That account had fewer than 1K followers at the time.

The hook shifted to something broader: “Send this to whoever takes your photos.”

It reached 199K views in three days.

The fact that a near-zero-follower account picked up that kind of traction on its own is the more interesting data point.

It suggests the format has legs beyond the main account’s reach. The hook is relatable enough to travel without the audience behind it.
