These 2 TikTok Accounts Pushed a New Study App Into the U.S. Top 100

A new study app has already broken into the Top 100 in U.S. Education with a very small TikTok setup.

Released 5 months ago, PrepGo is an AP exam prep app that is positioned more like a Duolingo-style prep app, with gamified progress, daily streaks, and topic-by-topic tracking across more than 30 AP subjects.

Its growth came mainly from two TikTok accounts: the official page, @prepgo.official, and an ambassador page, @westudybuddies.

The main account seems to be built for fast curiosity and immediate product discovery. Its early wins came from short, high-reaction videos that quickly pivot into an app demo.

The clearest examples were:

“how was no one gonna tell me this is how everyone is studying now??!”

“POV i finally get why EVERYONE deleted ChatGPT”

Both follow the same basic structure: strong reaction first, then product reveal.

More recently, an ambassador started doing a different job.

Around March 2026, @westudybuddies began pulling multiple 1M+ view videos with longer, more explanatory content. The best-performing example is a 40-second video built around a “4-step blueprint” for passing the AP exam.

“The AP exam isn’t just a test. It’s a game.”

Instead of relying on pure surprise, this format gives viewers a full framework. As she walks through the stages, she keeps tying different parts of the process back to the app’s features, turning the whole video into an ongoing app promo.

PrepGo’s early growth came from pairing two very different content functions. One account creates curiosity, while the other gives the audience a plan.

That seems to have been enough to help push the app into the Top 100 in U.S. Education and drive 7K downloads in the last 30 days.
