Many women’s health apps are taking off on TikTok, but Lila, Perimenopause Coach, stands out from the crowd, with a whole strategy is built around AI.
We found three TikTok accounts linked to the app, all posting since 2024, yet together they’ve only reached 12.4M views, a surprisingly low number considering the volume of content.
One of the accounts, @perimenopause.int, uses a format we’ve seen many times on our site->the classic street interview style.
Apps like NugVu and Fly Vaunt have used this format successfully.
But Lila adds a twist, the interviews aren’t real, They’re generated by AI.
“hardest part of perimenopause” → 614.6K views
Despite the clever concept, the views remain low.
And that’s unusual, because on our site we’ve shown repeatedly that street interviews are one of the most reliable formats for virality.
Exemples from articles:
- From Street Music Discoveries: Best video -> 1.6M views
- From Date First, See Later: Best video ->11.5M views
- From 10‑Minute Street Style Makeover: Best video ->1.1M views
So the problem isn’t the format. It’s that the content feels inauthentic. Viewers can tell the interviews are AI-generated.
Interestingly, the app’s top‑performing video wasn’t AI. It was a simple slideshow showing symptoms mothers experience during perimenopause:
“If your mom’s in PERIMENOPAUSE, this will change how you see her (especially slide 3)”
Even with this, downloads remain low.
Lila is in a category where authenticity matters, just like we saw with Musa, another women’s‑health app.
For Lila to grow, it may need to lean more on real creators, real stories, and real faces. AI can support the strategy, but it cannot replace human connection when the topic is this sensitive.
