Some apps try to build emotional worlds around their characters. Chonk is one of them, built on a virtual panda that’s meant to feel like a companion.
The app launched in 2024, but only started posting content in March 2025.
Across its three accounts, the storyline is always the same:
The videos compare the app’s mascot to a child, and the storyline is always about ‘raising’ it together with a best friend or a boyfriend.
And the numbers look impressive at first glance.
