The Roamy Copycat Playbook Goes Spanish

Latera is a new travel utility that’s basically “save the spot, map it, and turn it into a trip.” It lets you save places from TikTok/IG/Safari and organize them on a map, so your “future trip” isn’t just screenshots.

Released 52 days ago, they went straight for what’s already working: Roamy’s hook system, translated into Spanish.

Their biggest hit so far comes from @travelwithcande, who started posting at the end of February and immediately went straight for Roamy’s best-performing lines.

She translated the flight-attendant credibility hook to spanish and got 1.3M views.

“Podría LITERALMENTE casarme con la azafata que me mostró esto”
(“I could literally marry the flight attendant who showed me this.”)

Then she tested another Roamy-style “how did I not know this” discovery hook and it popped too:

“Llevo viajando hace 10 años y RECIÉN me entero de esto???” → 974K views
(“I’ve been traveling for 10 years and I’m only just finding out about this???”)

We’ve already seen apps like  Palima and Travy, where copying Roamy’s biggest lines (“wdym I just spent 3 months planning my trip to Paris and I just found this??”) was enough to get a first break through.

Roamy already proved this format worked over and over again: shocked reaction → panic/discovery hook → relief.

And instead of spending months experimenting, these newer apps can just lift the hooks that are already known to work and use them as a shortcut.
