Three and a half months, that’s all it took for Sanctify, a direct competitor to Genesis, to rack up 161.2M views.
But Sanctify didn’t create a new format. It actually took the Genesis ritual format and reworked it into its own style.
Format 1: The Genesis Adaptation
- A Bible verse illustration opens the video.
- The creator delivers the recurring line: “Can you help me spread the word of God by sharing this with everyone, can you?”
- The verse is read aloud.
- The app appears at the end as the call‑to‑action.

They also replicate Genesis’s original structure.
But while Genesis pushes this format to peaks of nearly 14.7M views in 2025, Sanctify’s version usually reaches only about 415.1K views.
Format 2: The “Don’t Scroll” Spiritual Confrontation
Sanctify’s second format doesn’t try to copy what Genesis does, and it still performs well on its own.
It starts with a random clip and then suddenly cuts to the creator delivering a sharp and confrontational hook.
“The devil hopes you scroll past this because he doesn’t want to give back what he stole from you. I encourage you to save this and share it with the first person God puts in your mind…”
As he starts to pray, a montage of dramatic and symbolic clips appears on the screen.
