A 2017 App Jumps 285 Ranks in 90 Days

Coursicle is a college schedule and registration helper.

Think Notion for course planning, with instant alerts when a class opens up.

The app launched in 2017, but climbed 285 ranks in the last 90 days.

The 30-Day Doubling

In December 2025, Coursicle was at ~10K downloads and ~$9K MRR.

Over the last 30 days, it doubled to ~20K downloads and ~$20K MRR.

The numbers suggest one primary driver: distribution.

The 85-handle UGC network

Coursicle is scaling through an 85-account UGC network across TikTok and Instagram.

Most creators run paired handles on both platforms and cross-post the same videos.

So far, the network has generated ~20.3M tracked views.

The breakout format

In August 2025, creator @studyrichme hit 6.6M views on Instagram.

He opens with a shocked face + tuition ROI hook:

“Me bc if i’m spending 35k a semester im getting my money’s worth”

Then flips to a laptop-screen demo, where coursicle.com is visible.

Coursicle comments “what app is that?” and the ~12K likes turn it into a CTA.

The repeatable formats

Most of the other viral clips fit into a small set of repeatable patterns.

Format #1: Faceless “locking in”

Hook → open laptop → quick demo.

locking in bc i can’t be chopped, broke, single AND stupid” hit 3.6M views (Dec 6, 2025).

Instagram’s official account commented “i needed to hear this”, making the post feel like culture content instead of an ad.

Format #2: POV selfies

POV hook → shocked face → quick demo.

POV: realizing i wasted an hour setting up my google calendar for college in freshman yr” hit 1.1M views on TikTok and 569K views on Instagram.

Coursicle is a reminder that distribution can restart growth, even for a 2017 app.

The product didn’t change. Distribution did.
