Duolingo for doomscrolling is going viral, and it hasn’t even launched yet.
The app is called Doomlingo, and it is currently on the waitlist.
Welcome to their winning founder led playbook.

Doomlingo is running just 3 accounts, 1 per platform.
They use the handle @doomlingo and the content is led by the founder, Mostafa Afr, a UPenn student.

Mostafa posts “ranking languages” selfie videos on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, and he has gone viral on all three.
Since his first upload in August, he has pulled in over 11 million views.

The top videos follow one repeatable formula:
Founder selfies that rank languages for a specific scenario.
For example:
- “Ranking languages by how useful they are to learn” got 970K views on TikTok and 520K views on Instagram on October 22.
It is a 1:20 clip where he ranks languages from S to D and quickly explains why each one lands there.
- “Ranking languages by how far back natives can read” also got 700K views on TikTok and 535K views on Instagram on November 17.
He also found a second angle that works well on IG Reels: Duolingo disses.
“I’m declaring war against Duolingo” reached 300K views on October 25.
“Duolingo might be the greatest honeypot in all of history” reached 306K views and 1.5K comments on November 16.
Both open with a Duolingo jab, then switch into a quick app demo.
A strong start.
We will keep you updated on the launch.
