Over the past few months, more apps have been popping up to help students manage their notes and study better.
About seven months ago, a new one came out, DocScribe, this time made specifically for medical students.
The app is linked to the Memrizz website, an AI platform that focuses on medical learning and practice. It’s often called “Memrizz Docscribe,” showing that both are part of the same digital system.
Even though the app is part of the same platform, it takes a different approach on TikTok.
DocScribe runs 9 accounts and has reached a total of 203,1K views so far.
All creators are medical students, and their videos focus mostly on studying. Most of them start with a shocked expression close-up, then move on to showing how the app works.
Each video begins with a hook that relates to the daily challenges of medical students or people in clinical training.
Another type of video shows the creator’s daily routine as a medical student. They talk throughout the video, with subtitles on the screen, and end by showing how the app fits into their day.
Even though the videos are made for the app’s audience, they haven’t been getting much engagement.
Because the app is part of the same platform, some DocScribe creators also promote Memrizz, using the same video style.
Memrizz launched before the app and was already using a different approach. It teamed up with medical students who already had TikTok accounts and were creating content.
It’s been seven months, and DocScribe is still struggling to scale its formats into significant views, and those views into users. Can they carve out a space in one of TikTok’s most crowded markets right now?
