#53 in Photo & 73.3M Views in Two Months

In a world already overflowing with photo-editing apps, very few have done what Halo AI has done in such a short time. After just two months on the market, it’s already crossed 100,000 downloads and grabbed >20% market share.

This week, it made another big move, jumping to rank #53 in the Photo & Video charts and quickly catching up the top players.

Even with just 8 official social media accounts, the app has already gained over 73,3 million views since it was launched.

The app originally took off on the @halo.ai0 account with simple food prank videos. They reused the same frying pan photo, turned it into a fake AI image, and showed people’s reactions on WhatsApp after getting it. None of the videos showed any faces.

The video hooks always highlight the prank scenario, usually something related to the kitchen or a strange AI-generated “creature.” That initial shock is what grabs attention.

But slowly, the newer creators have started gaining more and more traction.

They initially started with a headshot format: the video starts with the creator on camera, either talking or reacting with a bold expression, and there’s always music playing. Right away, the hook explains what they’re about to do with the app, then they walk through the steps, one by one.

But interestingly, this format didn’t do as well.

The videos that actually went viral stick to the same formula as the first one: no faces, a clear step-by-step of editing a photo with the app, and a prank at the end using the final image.

This video got 2,158 comments, mostly from people laughing in reaction to the prank.

Humor has become their most powerful trigger to views and engagement.

If the app’s done this much in just two months, it might hit the number-one spot soon if it keeps growing like this. We’ll keep you posted on this one.
