Blossom Social, a Canadian app launched in 2021, has now about 275K users and is growing by around 30K downloads every month. It’s a free VC-backed app, so revenue isn’t the main focus. Their model seems to rely on brand partnerships, outside of App Store monetization.
They’re running three UGC accounts with roughly a million total views. The personal finance niche on TikTok is deep, and we’ve covered it before with Budget Bestie and similar creators.
Blossom has strong marketing potential because it’s already a social app.
They’re using high-engagement hooks to spark conversations and position Blossom as the natural place to keep those chats going.
Their videos often give personal finance tips, ending with an app screenshot and watermark… a clean, native promo style.
They’re also doing finance talk videos that include a mid-roll “ad” or push for Blossom.
They’ve tried a few slideshow formats too, though those haven’t performed as well.
Even though similar ones elsewhere have done great in the niche:
It’s curious they’re not scaling harder. Maybe they are, and we just haven’t spotted all their accounts yet, but it doesn’t look that way.
It’s clear they didn’t get most of their users from TikTok, given how low their views are compared to their overall user numbers.
