Linda Shad’s growth hacking to a $17K+ MRR indie business:

Linda Shad started posting videos of her drawings on TikTok in 2016

After her 1st video went viral (500K views), 100 people signed up for her Discord group

A bit after she met Ben and they started working together

& found a name and concept for the project

Meanwhile, another video exploded (10M views), and 150,000 people joined Discord

So they launched the first version of Voidpet:

At the time as a self-care game, then they developed it to become a gamified journaling app

Voidpet: Mental Health => 10K+ monthly downloads & $9K MRR

Users collect and evolve emotion-based creatures & track their mood/habits

And one year later, she launched a new one: Voidpet Dungeon

Launched 3 months ago => 7K monthly downloads & $8K MRR

It’s the same characters but in a more gamified way (kinda like Pokemon)

On her TikTok account (tt@lindashad) she has 214K followers

& reached 78,100,000 total views, posting drawings and her artwork

As well as her own founder journey & story:

“So I’m making a game that it’s like Pokemon but…” => 4.2M views
“POV: your indie game gets nominated for google apps of the year and…” => 6.7M views
“Quitting job with no dev experience to create an app…” => 1.4M views

She’s killing it, not just on TikTok:

Her personal brand is active everywhere : TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Discord & on her own website

Interestingly, her co-founder did the same:

He posts random/funny content about his life of dev work, but check this:

706,000 followers on his account (with a CTA in bio for Voidpet game, ofc)

Combined, they have almost 1M followers on TikTok alone (personal)
