A new Pope has arisen, and so has a new app. From a random guy monetizing over 200 million Tiktok views.

It all starts in 2020.
Dayne Kamela starts posting random videos of his day on Tiktok. He wasn’t getting much traction, and eventually he just stops.
In July, he posts a video talking about going through a hard time, this video garners over 38,000 views.
He gets hyped and with his newfound confidence, he keeps going.
Then this happens:

He finds his core audience and also starts to increase the video quality.
The most important thing he does is… he starts posting daily.
No more random stuff, just hooks like this:
“Stop and pray with me”
“Pray with me tonight”
Suddenly, in December, this video explodes:
3M views, 750K likes, 17,5K comments, and 20,4K bookmarks
You guessed it… “Bedtime prayer”
He didn’t find just his format, but also the hack that unlocked what came next:
“If you prayed with me hit that + sign so i can pray w you each and every single day”
Boom.
He’s become a part of people’s nightly routines.
What people don’t know is that Tiktok loves to support “comfort creators”, these are creators that viewers watch on a daily basis. If you can become a part of someone’s routine that’s a win for them and keeps people on their app.
Over 103M views on TikTok since then.
But he still didn’t stop there, he moved over to Instagram with the exact same content as TikTok.
131M views. Insane engagement rates
Can you guess what happens next?

He launches a prayer app (!!!) called Prayer Project.
Description from the App Store:
“Prayer Project helps you build a simple, daily rhythm of prayer that fits into your real life — not one that competes with it. This app gently invites you to step away from distractions… …and step into the presence of God.”
40 days ago, Prayer Project was released on the App Store & Google Play and last month it had 1,000 downloads.
I know what you’re gonna ask…How is he converting?

Well, that’s the thing. He’s starting off (a bit too) slowly. Dayne only mentions app in 1 out of every 10 videos.
My guess is that he’s scared of losing his personal brand by posting direct promotional content.
