In case you haven’t heard, Taylor Swift is launching her new album The Life of a Showgirl this Friday, October 3rd.
As a fellow Swiftie, I thought I’d write about some ways I feel like this buzz can be huge to generate new app ideas, or simply ways to tie your content to this event.
A few ideas that can be applied to either an app or content:
1) Dating as a Swiftie
This can work as a dating app or as a video narration with high potential to go viral “5 dating rules i have as a TS fan”
2) Screen blocker
Again, it can be an app, or just a way to plug your productivity app
- “the only way to stop myself to procrastinate all day while i wait for TS12 to drop this week”
- “when i’ve been refreshing Taylor’s page all day waiting for a new countdown then I remember my final essay is due tonight”
You get it, right?
3) Social
Anything goes, but take a moment and think of all the options you can use here to get Swifties to care about your social app. Stickers, widgets, “how to find Swifties when traveling”, “I went back to school and created a Swiftie group”, etc etc
4) Habit Tracker
Similarly, you can create hooks, formats and even apps about “Taylor’s habits”. Look a bit into her routine while preparing for the Eras Tour and you’ll see an infinite list of content you can use as reference of lifestyle habits that your app will resonate with.
5) Affirmations/Journaling
… with Taylor Swift lyrics of course. Now this will be hard for an app, due to copyright, but you can easily use her lyrics as hooks and adjust them to support a subtle CTA to your app.

6) Food and fitness
Same as 4). Among many other things, people are always curious about celebrities’ diets and fitness habits, so take advantage of that. Show your app as the tool to get there:
“not me scanning my food 24/7 to make sure i’m following taylor’s diet the right way”
“omg i downloaded this app and someone created Taylor Swift’s viral workout and it’s just 18 minutes??”
Be creative.
7) Fashion
And last but not least, fashion AI apps, time to shine. You can easily include her in hooks and formats, especially when it comes to finding dupes of viral outfits. A quick search online will give you an idea of what she’s been wearing lately. Take some outfits and record yourself finding the dupes through your app. 100% chance of succeeding (unless you mess it up).
