The combo app era is here

Are you tired of hearing about – “My app is like if X and X had a baby?? “

We’ve all heard about the app that is a hybrid of Pinterest and Notes, or even yesterday, I heard about an app that is a Reddit x Tinder mash-up.

I just found another one today, Faircado, that just hit 50K monthly downloads:

Pinterest x Vinted = Faircado

How does Faircado work? Snap a photo of a clothing item, and it tells you where to find similar items across all second-hand brands.

Faircado was released in 2023, and it’s only available in Germany and the UK. Their website boasts, ” You search it, we find it. It’s kind of magic.”

Faircado is running a network of 14 accounts.

Since the start of 2025, Faircado has earned 56.7M views, 124K bookmarks & 57K shares

The best-performing account is one of the two founder-led accounts: tt@broketechfounder.

He’s nailing the long hook UGC format. And he always starts with this opening:

“idk if it’s just me…..”

“ok be honest….”

“idk if this is a good idea??”

Playing the hesitation card, and there’s nothing people love more than giving (un)solicited advice.

Using the app combo hack by saying: Pinterest + Vinted “irl”

He uses it not only on his account, but it was also used in their second most viral video ever on tt@helene.kr (German).

6/8 total ambassadors were hired on May 26th, and most of them posted about 20 videos and gathered 25K-30K views so far.

Faircado is testing long hooks and mixing English and German content through the ambassador accounts.

But there’s an older account on IG Reels still making a huge contribution in views (ig@faircado)

And here they’re experimenting with a completely new format…

Which had three videos going crazy viral in April. How?

They saw an opportunity to address a viral (yet peculiar) Vinted trend

Of people posting about sending their clothes inside crazy objects

(condom, eggshell, etc)

and it’s genius => 13.4M + 6.3M + 6.5M video views

Amazing for virality, yet tricky for conversion.

Get multiple accounts, split up your formats, and you can get the best of both worlds (like Hannah Montana once said).
