Well, it’s not exactly new. It is available on the App Store since February, but it’s now making it’s way down toward the TikTok algorithm dungeons.

Though it’s currently sitting at #62 in the Books category, they’re still struggling to get downloads.
On TikTok, they’re relying solely on two branded accounts and a few occasional organic mentions.

Together those accounts have pulled just 185,000 views.
All posts are faceless slideshows. Hooks don’t seem particularly optimized but here’s an overview for you to analyse:
Hook: “x friends on a road trip take wrong turn” — Views: 7609
Hook: “ATTENTION BOOKTOK GIRLIES!! if reading more is your 2024 goal you NEED this new app” — Views: 13.8K
Hook: “booktok!! i made a new booktok app and i’m looking for testers” (heart emoji) — Views: 13.7K
Hook: “hii booktok!! ik heb een app gemaakt speciaal voor jullie :)” — Views: 13.1K
Hook: “i found the best app for book readers” (purple card) — Views: 22.8K
Hook: “sooo… i created a new booktok app” — Views: 4221
Hook: (old-photo / gothic collage — text hard to read; maybe “a stranger leaves her a fortune”)
Hook: “hey booktok!! ik heb een app gemaakt speciaal voor booktok :” (Dutch) — Views: 4382
Hook: “booktok listen up..” (on an open book image) — Views: 2603
Hook: “this app just ended my ‘I don’t know what to read’” — Views: 797
With BookTok booming with organic viral posts, we can’t help but wonder why not turn these slideshows into highly-specific fandom posts, with better hooks and blast them across multiple accounts, divided by theme.
We’ll keep you posted.
