Rumor has it TikTok is now pushing carousels more than videos.
There’s a social calendar app going all in with this strategy, but is it actually working?
It’s an old one that we’ve covered before: Howbout.
Like most apps, they started with a single branded account. A few posts did very well, although they could’ve been boosted.

For the past 30 days, they’ve been busy hiring ambassadors to pump out content.
And they’ve managed to secure a few million views.
Now they’re scaling:

Howbout is freestyling and trying to figure out what’s working.
One of their top accounts tt@monicashowbout, has almost 500k views.
They only do carousel posts:

Most accounts are pumping out random faceless meme carousels.
It’s not clear whether they’re pushing those through some clipping network or in-house (we assume the prior as the content feels random).
They do have some (lucky) hits like this one:

The few pieces of content that’ve done well are:
Hook: “ did you hear what she did?” + organic and cute photo of 2 friends
Hook: “When my toxic relationship ended i couldn’t stop wanting him back”
Hook: “No revenge”
There is a theme but most accounts are just random content with pretty low views:

Our analysis?
Either they increase the volume of posts, or give a second chance to video posts (or do a mix).
