Bible.ai entered the App Store & went straight to #57
Leio McLaren (26y) turned his 100K followers personal brand into pure distribution
All he did was recycle this EXTREMELY viral (and forgotten) format:
“Church dude with a sign” started posting on Instagram 10 months ago.
79K followers for an exact copy of a viral format, but targeting a new niche
Yesterday, he launched Bible .ai, that went straight into #57 on the App Store:

Do you remember this other guy?
“Dude with a sign” went insanely viral on Instagram late 2019.
It was this guy just posting photos of him outside standing with a cardboard sign with some message:

Soon after, copycats started popping up.
And now, Leio decided to copy the exact format but targeting the Christian niche
He’s doing it on IG Reels & Threads and TikTok:

He has a total of 102,030 followers of his personal brand (/churchdutewithasign)
And already 84,582 followers on bible .ai branded accounts
It’s crazy, cause they were created 1 week ago

Launched ig@bible.ai with 2 collab reels featuring his personal pages
They got 74,900 views => 75K followers
All accounts had a CTA in bio for the preorder of the app:

Instagram is clearly his comfort zone, whereas on TikTok he’s still experimenting with formats:
Neither tt@thechurchdude nor tt@bible.ai have taken off (yet)

Imo, it won’t be easy to go viral with this format cause there are so many apps doing the exact same (with very similar UI)
But a slight change in layout or opening w/ UGC could change it all
Either way,
This is a perfect example of how the app matters less that your reach
Just like tt@lifeonfilm, your app can come later
And once it does, you’re able to skyrocket into the Top 50 in the App Store in one of the most saturated markets rn (Biblical apps)
