How he turned this one thing EVERYONE wanted into a viral app:
Santos Populares is an annual event, the first two weeks of June in Lisbon, Portugal. It’s a vibrant and colorful festival with many parties and concerts happening across the city.
The thing is, it’s to keep up with which party is happening when and where. So a few years ago, someone started an Excel sheet with all of the party locations. It went viral on TikTok and IG Reels, and each year, people look for this legendary sheet:
This year wasn’t an exception, with everyone posting at the end of May- “where’s the Excel??”
“one beer for the person who can get me the excel with all the parties and locations for this year” – 411K views
So Stephane had an idea:
On May 28th, he launched an app that lets you find and filter through hundreds of Santos parties, events and artists.
In less than 24h, his app was #1 in Entertainment and #12 overall on the Portuguese App Store:
Now his app is circulating organically on TikTok and Reels.
He’s still getting feedback on the features, but he shipped fast, and that’s all that mattered here.
So maybe you’re overthinking your app instead of listening to what your audience wants and needs.
