This gamified AI (avatar) language app just did $49,000 & 50K downloads last month…
…with 10 TikTok accounts & in under 120 days:
1y ago this dev team decided to get into the hyper saturated language learning niche
So they went for an AI simulation game where you learn the language by interacting w/ other characters
Pretty cool, but

They were off to a slow start on distribution
One branded account tt@lingolooper (5.9M views) with low performing videos
Until one month ago, when they had this breakthrough:
Using AI ugc for the video.
Is it realistic? No
Do people comment to point that out? 100%

It doesn’t really matter if it’s bad quality here
It’s low cost, low effort content, and it works:
5,046,500 views in only 3 videos. All from last month.
And that’s not all…

About 4 months ago, Lingo Looper started setting up a small network of ugc creators
One of them, tt@oohlalangue tripled the amount of views of the branded one in 100 days:

Learn french content & her first video ever is about how she couldn’t learn w/ Duolingo but found a way better alternative
Interestingly, all their ambassadors are non-disclosed
No mention of app/ link on profile besides a soft CTA during video:
It’s working… and now they’ve doubled down on ugc
(you can see all accounts here)
And then this happened:

5 new accounts popped up on TikTok in the past month
One branded for english learning (started 4d ago)
And four…

UGC but targeting other languages (learn spanish, polish, etc)

and their TikTok-fueled strategy translated to great growth and to them raising a new round:
